Mid-20th-century posters and sci-fi magazine covers were filled with simplified yet romantic visions of the cosmos—ringed planets, ascending rockets, celestial phenomena, and comets streaking across deep space. LEGO Set 21340 does not recreate specific technology, but rather captures the shared sense of curiosity, wonder, and hope that humanity feels when gazing up at the stars.

This set condenses four iconic space-themed scenes into four independent “brick-built artworks.” From left to right, they depict: a planet encircled by a pale green ring, a rocket launching with blazing orange-red flames, a solar eclipse with the sun and moon in alignment, and a comet trailing a bright white tail. Each scene is set against contrasting colored stripes below, and together, the bold color contrasts and clean geometric forms create a retro poster-style “space epic quadriptych.”

The ZENE Bricks lighting kit customizes a core lighting effect for each scene. The ring of the planet is illuminated with a soft green glow, as if it radiates light itself. The rocket’s exhaust bursts with vivid orange-red illumination, full of dynamic energy. In the eclipse scene, a mysterious white halo emerges from the edge of the obscured sun. Meanwhile, the comet’s coma and icy tail are sharply defined by bright white LEDs, tracing a brilliant path across the dark background.
